Amid the ongoing tension on the Indo-Pak border, the feeling of patriotism is once again at its peak in the entire country. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the leave of officers and employees has been cancelled in most of the government departments of Uttarakhand. The employees who have already gone on leave are also being called back. At the same time, the army personnel who have come home on leave are also returning to their duty to protect the country. At such a time, the youth of Chamoli district have taken an inspiring initiative and made their taxi services free for the army personnel.
Surendra Singh, owner of SK Tour and Travels from Nandanagar area of the district, Bijju Negi, owner of Negi Bijju Bhai Tour and Travels, Naveen Gaur and Darshan Negi, owner of Shri Baikunth Taxi Service from Urgam Valley of Joshimath have started the service of taking the soldiers returning to duty after their leave to railway stations and airports for free.
All the taxi operators have given this information through their Facebook posts. They have also shared their mobile numbers. Surendra Singh and Bijju Negi said that many members of their families are also serving in the army. Therefore, patriotism is natural in them.
They said that when the country needs us, how can we stay behind? If in future retired soldiers are also called for service, then we will provide free taxi service for them too. This initiative of these youth not only gives a strong message, but also shows that borders are protected not only with weapons, but also with public support and emotional cooperation.
