Uttarakhand: BJP counted the benefits of caste census, targeted Congress

After the central government recently approved the caste-based census in the cabinet, the BJP has called it a historic decision. On this subject, state BJP president Mahendra Bhatt spoke to the media in a press conference held in Dehradun on Sunday.
BJP enumerated the benefits of caste census
Mahendra Bhatt said that the decision taken to conduct caste census after 94 years is a big step towards understanding the social and economic fabric of the country. He said that this is the first time since 1931 that a government has taken this issue seriously. Bhatt said that the census is proposed again after 2011, but even in the last census, the government did not have an analysis of OBCs and other castes. In such a situation, it was necessary that the real social condition of the country be assessed.
Bhatt targeted Congress
BJP state president targeted Congress and said that when the Congress was in power, it did not take any concrete steps regarding caste census. He said that in 2010, the then Congress government had certainly formed a group of ministers, but it did not do any work on it. Congress used caste census only as a political tool. Bhatt said that the basic purpose of caste census is to bring the society on equality, so that every class can get the benefits of schemes on the basis of their actual status.
