There was a stir in the corridors. BrahMos cruise missile caused massive destruction by targeting several important military bases of Pakistan including Noor Khan (Chaklala) airbase.

According to sources, India carried out this strike when Pakistan launched ‘Fateh 11’ ballistic missiles. It tried to target New Delhi with these ballistic missiles. But the S-400 air defense system deployed in Sirsa, Haryana destroyed those missiles in the air itself. After this, India retaliated by using BrahMos without losing any time.

BrahMos cruise missile wreaks havoc on Pakistan

The purpose of this strike was not just to respond. But it was also to strategically shock Pakistan’s ‘nuclear image’. India showed that it is not just defense. If needed, it is equally accurate and deadly in offense as well.

After this attack, Pakistan’s top military leadership, including Army Chief Asim Munir, had to come on the back foot. A day earlier, India had targeted Pakistan’s air defense system in Lahore. This made it clear that India’s missiles can now reach deep into the enemy’s heart and strike directly at its heart.

Attacks took place at these places

With the tremendous accuracy of Brahmos, there has been heavy damage in areas like Rafiki, Muridke, Noor Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, Skardu, Bholari and Jacobabad.

Now understand why Brahmos is so special

Now let’s understand why Brahmos is so special. Actually, Brahmos is made with the concept of ‘fire and forget’. And this is also its strength. Once launched, it does not require any guidance.

This missile works on a two-stage system. This missile is a symbol of partnership between India and Russia. Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyenia have jointly built it.

First the solid booster launches it. Then the ramjet engine propels it at the speed of Mach 3. Its name is also very special. It was called ‘Brahmos’ by combining India’s ‘Brahmaputra’ and Russia’s ‘Moskva’ river.

Destroy enemies even by flying 10 meters low

Brahmos can target the enemy even by flying 10 meters low. Which makes it very difficult to track and stop it. This is the reason why it can attack accurately even while being out of the enemy’s sight.

  • Talking about the range, its basic strike capability is 290 km.
  • The upgraded version can target from 450 to 800 km.
  • Now the variant with a range of up to 1,500 km is also in testing.

It was tested 24 years ago

The first successful test of Brahmos was done on 12 June 2001. In 2005, the Navy included it on INS Rajput. While in the year 2007, it was included in the Army regiment. Later, the Air Force also started launching it from the air through Sukhoi-30 MKI. Today, by 2025, India has several versions of Brahmos. Each version is a name of terror for the enemy.
