Theft case in Municipal Corporation

Regarding the case, Municipal Corporation’s record in-charge Rakesh Pandey had given a complaint on 6th. In the complaint, he had told that an unknown person broke the lock of the record room on the night of May 4 and stole an important register. Police started investigating the case by registering a case against the unknown person. Police searched the footage of CCTV cameras installed around the spot. With the help of CCTV, police arrested the accused property dealer Ravindra Rana (33).

Records were stolen in the name of property dealing

During interrogation, Ravindra told that he was contacted through Praveen Rawat to sell the property of a person named Rajkishore located on Rajpur Road. When he took a party from Delhi to show the land, it was revealed in the investigation of the documents that the mutation of the said land is not in the name of Rajkishore. The documents were incomplete and the corporation was repeatedly delaying it.

Plan made to steal by breaking into the record room

Rajkishore had allegedly asked Ravindra to manage the documents by luring him with commission. As per the plan, Ravindra along with his brother Yogesh and friend Kuldeep made a plan to steal the register from the record room. On the night of May 4, the three accused reached Dehradun and entered the record room from behind the corporation office by climbing a ladder.

Police searching for two other accused

The accused did not find the register in the record room but they stole another register out of suspicion. Seeing the morning approaching, the accused took the same register with them and hid it in the Asharodi forest. On the information given by Ravindra, the police recovered the stolen register from the forest. Currently, the police is searching for Ravindra’s brother Yogesh and friend Kuldeep in this case.
