Uttarakhand: Villagers panicked after crocodile was seen in Devipura, cleaning of drain started immediately on the instructions of CM Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday visited Gram Panchayat Devipura under Banbasa area of Champawat. During the inspection, the local villagers raised the serious problem of the village in front of the Chief Minister. The villagers told that there is rapid erosion in the Sania drain flowing near the village, which poses a big threat to the population.

The villagers also told Chief Minister Dhami about the sighting of crocodile in the drain, due to which there is an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the entire area. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed the officials of the Forest Department and Irrigation Department to take immediate action on the spot. As soon as the instructions of the CM were received, JCB machine was called within just one hour and the work of cleaning the drain started on a war footing.

The Irrigation Department showed promptness in the work and removed the dirt of the drain and temporary measures were also started to stop erosion. CM Dhami directed the officials to regularly monitor the drain and make proper arrangements for the safety of the area. The CM said that the safety of the public is our first priority. The administration should take any such potential danger seriously and take immediate action.
