The Uttarakhand government is often in discussions about all its decisions. In this sequence, the Dhami government has taken a historic decision. Under which, for the first time after the formation of the state, Muslim women have been given representation in the Haj Committee of the state. On the suggestion of CM Dhami, three women have been included in the Haj Committee. Due to which Muslim women will also participate on the policies and problems related to Haj pilgrimage. The Uttarakhand government has also released the list in this regard.
According to the list released by the government, Kotdwar Municipal Corporation councilor Rizwana Parveen, Tarannum Khan of Haldwani and Shahida Siraj of Almora have been nominated as members of the Haj Committee. The appointment of these women is considered important from the point of view of women empowerment. CM Dhami said that Muslim women going on Haj pilgrimage also have to face many types of problems. For the first time after the formation of the state, by giving them representation in the Haj Committee, it has been decided that women will be able to put their problems and suggestions directly before the committee.
The CM said that even before this, the government had worked towards women empowerment and appointed Saira Bano as the Vice President of the State Women Commission. Luxor MLA Mohammad Shahzad has also got representation in the Haj Committee. Apart from these, Zeeshan Ahmed, Haseeb Ahmed, Islamuddin Ansari, Sameer Jafri, Khateeb Ahmed, Mannan Raja, Haji Abrar Hussain and Haji Faim Khan have also been nominated as members.
