Uttarakhand: Nazir arrested red handed while taking bribe, Dhami government’s action against corruption continues

Action against corruption is going on in Uttarakhand. In this episode, on Tuesday, Virendra Singh Kaintura, appointed on the post of Nazir in Dhanolti, Tehri, was arrested red handed while taking a bribe of 15 thousand. Also, the Superintending Engineer of the Irrigation Department has been suspended.
Dhami government’s action on bribe takers
The complainant had complained about the matter to the Vigilance. In which he had told that his wife had bought about 1500 square meters of land in Tehri Garhwal on 31 January 2025, in whose mutation file, Tehsil Nazir Virendra Singh Kaintura is deliberately putting wrong objection report, and is demanding bribe in exchange for the correct report and inclusion of name in the mutation file.
Nazir arrested while taking bribe of 15 thousand
The Vigilance team, taking action as per the rules, arrested the accused Virendra Singh Kaintura, currently Nazir Tehsil Dhanolti Tehri, on 13 May from the office of the accused located in Tehsil Dhanolti while taking a bribe of 15 thousand from the complainant. After the arrest, the team searched the accused’s residence. Also, inquired about movable and immovable properties at other places.
Superintending Engineer of Irrigation Department suspended
On the basis of allegations of corruption in the auction of Pantdeep Parking, Haridwar, the then Superintending Engineer of Irrigation Department RK Tiwari has been suspended with immediate effect. On the basis of facts and evidence available in the investigation and the investigation report submitted to the government, he has been found guilty prima facie. Along with the suspension, he has been attached to the office of Chief Engineer Level-2, Almora.
