Uttarakhand: Government’s emphasis on Green Chardham Yatra, e-charging stations installed at 25 places

The Uttarakhand government is operating the Chardham Yatra as Green Chardham Yatra. In this sequence, the state government has provided e-vehicle charging facilities at 25 places from this travel season. This time instructions were given to organize the Chardham Yatra on the theme of Green Yatra. Due to which 38 e-vehicle charging stations have been developed on the travel routes. Out of which 28 charging stations have been built by the Transport Department and 10 in collaboration with THDC. Out of this, 25 stations have been started till the start of the journey.

Most of the charging stations have been set up by the Transport Department in the property of GMVN. Universal chargers of 60 kW capacity have been installed at each station. Which includes two charging guns of 30-30 kW. GMVN MD Vishal Mishra said that e-charging stations have been set up at the main stops to promote the Green Chardham Yatra. So that passengers can be encouraged to use electric vehicles. Charging stations have been set up at four GMVN guest houses operated by the Tourism Department in Rudraprayag district.

E-vehicle charging stations have been set up at Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mangalore, Roorkee, Barkot, Syanachatti, Phoolchatti, Janakichatti, Kaudiyala, Srinagar, Srikot, Gauchar, Karnaprayag, Gairsain, Kaleshwar, Nandprayag, Pipalkoti, Auli, Pandukeshwar Badrinath, Syalsaur, Guptkashi, Sonprayag and Ghansali on the Uttarakhand Chardham Yatra route. CM Dhami said that this year a target has been set to organize the Chardham Yatra as a green yatra. Due to which EV charging stations are being built on the travel routes. This will not only facilitate the journey of the devotees, but will also prove to be a better step towards making Uttarakhand pollution free.
