Financial and administrative approval of Rs 3.36 crore has been given for the beautification and development of Badhanital, an important tourist spot of the district under Vikaskhanj Jakholi. Due to which tourism is expected to get wings in the area. MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary has expressed his gratitude to CM Dhami on getting financial approval for the lake.

On April 14, 2022, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami came to the Badhanital Tourism and Development Fair and announced to develop Badhanital as an important tourist destination. For this, the Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Rural Construction Department, prepared a blueprint for the beautification and development of Badhanital and prepared a DPR and sent it to the government for approval. Along with granting approval of Rs 3.36 crore for the beautification and development of Badhanital from the government level, Rs 134.60 lakh was released for the financial year 2025-26.

The work of beautification of Badhanital will be done by the implementing agency Rural Development Department. MLA Bharat Singh Chaudhary said that Badhanital is an important tourist destination of the district. There was a demand for its beautification for a long time. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has fulfilled this demand of the public, its work will start soon. Badhanital will develop as a beautiful tourist destination and will become a big source of employment for the local people of the area.

Along with this, he said that the work of asphalting and strengthening is being done for Barsir-Badhanital at a cost of 26 crores, due to which tourists will get the benefit of smooth traffic in the coming time. He said that the state government is continuously working for the development of the area.

Badhanital lake is situated at an altitude of seven thousand feet in the district, which is about 60 to 62 kilometers away from Rudraprayag, while a 200-meter pedestrian path from the road passes through the middle of the village and reaches the lake. This lake is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that bathing in this lake on special festivals like Panchami, Makar Sankranti, Poornima, Amavasya etc. brings good fortune. This is the reason why devotees and tourists from far and wide come here in large numbers on special festivals and a fair is also organized every year.
