Earthquake shook the ground in Myanmar, people fled from their homes, know what was the intensity

Strong tremors of earthquake were felt in Myanmar on Saturday night at 9:24 pm. As soon as the earthquake was detected, people left their houses and started running to safer places. The intensity of the earthquake was measured 5.4 on the Richter scale. At present there is no report of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), an earthquake of magnitude 5.4 occurred near Kyaukse in Myanmar on Saturday.
Safety advisory issued
A month ago, powerful tremors in the country caused widespread loss of life and property. In view of this, DSS has issued a safety advisory. According to the NCS, the earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 10 kilometers, making it susceptible to aftershocks. In a post on X, the NCS said, “M EQ: 3.3, Date: 15/05/2025 13:31:01 IST, Latitude: 26.67 N, Longitude: 96.17 E, Depth: 10 km, Location: Myanmar.”
7.7 magnitude earthquake struck on March 28
Early on the same day, another earthquake of magnitude 3.4 struck the region. Earlier on Thursday, another earthquake struck Myanmar, details of which were shared by the NCS on X. Following magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 earthquakes that struck central Myanmar on March 28, the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned of a series of rapidly increasing health threats for thousands of people displaced in quake-hit areas, saying people could be at risk of tuberculosis (TB), HIV, vector- and water-borne diseases.
