Uttarakhand: Congress is not satisfied with the action taken in Haridwar land purchase scam, Mahara said- action has not been taken against the real culprits

Today, on June 3, 7 officers including 2 IAS have been suspended in the Municipal Corporation land purchase scam. These include Haridwar DM Karmendra Singh and the then Municipal Commissioner Varun Chaudhary. So far, action has been taken against 12 officers in this case. But Uttarakhand Congress is not satisfied with this action of the Dhami government.

Congress not satisfied with action on Haridwar land purchase scam: Congress state president Karan Mehra has demanded action against other high officials and white collar leaders, saying that they are involved in this case. Karan Mehra has called this action of the government a mere show-off, calling it an action taken under the pressure of the Congress. He said that attaching the suspended officer to the Personnel and Vigilance Department raises many questions.

Action taken due to fear of my protest

Let us tell you that today Congress state president Karan Mehra was on a Haridwar tour. While talking to ETV Bharat, he replied to a question about two IAS and one PCS officers suspended for Haridwar Municipal Corporation land purchase scam and said-

I would like to warn all those officers that this is a lesson for those officers who do such things under the influence of big leaders and big officers. After that, action is taken only on such occasions and those leaders and big officers enjoy themselves. When Congress raised this issue, the government took action against these officers. Today, when they knew that I am coming to Haridwar and sitting on a dharna, action was taken against them today itself. Why was this not taken cognizance of by the government on its own and even after that this action has been taken for show.

Along with this, Karan Mahara said that till now no action has been taken against those who are actually guilty of this. At whose behest this whole game was planned and they are still hiding. Until action is taken against them, Congress is not going to stop and will keep raising issues like this.

Harish Rawat called the land purchase scam a great sin

Former Uttarakhand CM and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat called the Haridwar land purchase scam a burning great sin. He wrote on his social media account Facebook that-

Haridwar #Bhoomi_Scam is the burning great sin of this government. Under public pressure, you suspended the District Magistrate etc., it is a good thing. But I had made it clear in my very first tweet about 15 days ago that such a big land scam and that too at the district headquarters at the center point of the district cannot happen without #political_protection! Who is the political patron of this scam, this is the Yaksha question? Without the solution of which this scam cannot be forgotten.

Know what is Haridwar land purchase scam

Let us tell you that this whole matter is of the year 2024. During the civic elections in the year 2024, the entire system of Haridwar Municipal Corporation was with the Municipal Commissioner. At that time, the responsibility of Haridwar Municipal Commissioner was with IAS Varun Chaudhary. The code of conduct was imposed in Haridwar district due to the municipal elections. Then the Haridwar Municipal Corporation bought 33 bighas of land. For what purpose this land was bought, it is not yet clear.

Bought garbage dumping zone for 58 crores by registering it as agricultural land

According to what has come out in the investigation so far, the garbage of Haridwar Municipal Corporation has been dumped in the area around the land that has been purchased. That is why the price of the land there was not much, but some officials of the Municipal Corporation and the administration got the agricultural land registered in 143 and bought it for Rs 58 crore from the government budget.

The scam was exposed when the BJP mayor came

BJP’s mayor candidate won in Haridwar Municipal Corporation. After this, this matter also came to the fore. Gradually this matter became a political issue and the matter reached the CM’s office. After this, CM Dhami ordered an investigation and the investigation was handed over to Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan. This action was taken only after the investigation report of Secretary Ranveer Singh Chauhan.
