Uttarakhand: Panic of leopard in Pauri, one person killed, forest department team reached the spot

The terror of leopards in Pauri is not reducing. In Siroli village of Ekeshwar block, a leopard attacked a person and killed him. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic among the villagers.
Leopard killed a person
Leopards have created panic in many villages of Ekeshwar block under Chaubattakhal assembly. Last evening, leopard killed Puran Singh (55) son of Bhopal Singh in Siroli village of Ekeshwar block. According to the information, the person was going to his home through the forest. The leopard lying in wait attacked the person and killed him.
Permission sought to shoot the leopard
Regarding the matter, DFO Garhwal Forest Department Swapnil Anirudh said that after receiving information about the incident, the forest department team reached the spot. Efforts are on to tranquillize the leopard. Apart from this, permission has been sought from the Chief Wildlife Warden to shoot the leopard. Action is being taken to provide compensation to the family of the deceased. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the incident.
