“The peaks where the tricolor flies today, were once a shower of bullets. But our heroes did not lose courage, but gave a befitting reply to the enemy and increased the pride of Mother India. Millions of salutes to those immortal martyrs of Kargil!”
On the occasion of the upcoming 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army organized special programs in all the districts of Uttarakhand to remember all those martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the Kargil war of 1999. Senior army officers, ex-servicemen, administrative officers and a large number of citizens participated in this event.
An awareness campaign was started by the army. In the program, Naib Subedar Sudhir Chandra, and his other colleagues introduced military discipline and remembered the bravery of the immortal martyrs during the Kargil war in 1999 and honored their families. This emotional occasion became a symbol of pride and reverence for all present.
The soldiers said, “We have not forgotten our brave comrades, nor will we ever forget them. It is not our duty, but our sentiment that we tell their families that their sacrifice has not gone in vain.”
The family of the martyr said: “We lost our husband, son, brother, but today we realise that our husband, son, brother were not alone. The entire Indian Army is standing behind them.”
This event was not just a ritual, but a message that the country never forgets its martyrs and their families. Their sacrifice is embedded in the soul of India.
The atmosphere resonated with slogans of ‘And finally, Jai Veer Jawanon ki Jai and Bharat Mata ki Jai’.
Jai Veer Balidani, Jai Bharat, Jai Uttarakhand.
