The earth has shaken once again in the Latin American country Chile. A strong earthquake has struck northern Chile. The country was shaken by an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude. This earthquake has caused minor damage to Chile’s infrastructure i.e. homes and buildings. Due to the earthquake, power was cut off in more than 23,000 homes. At present, officials have not reported any casualties after the earthquake.
According to the USGS, the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at around 11 am on Friday Indian time. This strong earthquake occurred at a depth of 76 kilometers (47 miles). Its epicenter was located near the coast of the Atacama Desert.
The earthquake was felt in many communities in the vast area of the Atacama Desert. Initial reports did not immediately confirm any casualties. However, the earthquake caused people to run out of their homes in fear. Chile’s Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service said that there is no tsunami alert yet due to the earthquake.
Chile’s disaster team said the powerful earthquake caused minor damage to infrastructure and power outages, leaving about 23,000 people without power. The earthquake caused some minor landslides, which are being monitored and coordinated with municipalities.
