Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Drunk driver hits vehicles standing at red light, two people injured, 6 vehicles damaged

There was chaos in Chhiddarwala of Raiwala police station area on Friday evening when a speeding car hit the vehicles standing at the red light from behind. Two people were seriously injured in the accident. While 6 vehicles were badly damaged.

As soon as the information of the incident was received, Raiwala police reached the spot and took the injured to the hospital with the help of 108 ambulance. After the accident, the driver who hit the car fled from the spot, who was running towards Dehradun after turning from Nepali Farm. Police chased the driver and arrested the accused from near Bal Sundari Temple, Laltappad.
Case registered against the accused driver
The driver has been identified as Sushil Rayal (35) son of Anusuiya Prasad Rayal, resident of Rishikesh. Investigation revealed that the driver was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. The accused was medically examined. In which intoxication was confirmed. Police have registered a case against the accused under sections of the Motor Vehicles Act and have seized the vehicle.
