Uttarakhand / Dehradun: No need to go to Jhajra for driving license test, now the test will be done in the RTO office itself

Now, one will not have to go to the Institute of Driving and Training Research (IDTR) Jhajra to give the test for permanent driving license for two-wheelers. For this, the Transport Department has prepared a driving track in the RTO office Dehradun premises, on which tests will start from Monday, June 9. This relief will be available only to applicants giving DL test for two-wheelers, while applicants whose test will be for a car will have to go to IDTR Jhajra only.
At present, the learning license test for DL is done in the RTO office by answering multiple choice questions on the computer. After that, people had to face a lot of difficulties to go to IDTR Jhajra, about 20 km from the city, to give the test for permanent driving license. Especially women, young women, elderly and children between the age of 16 to 18 years who make license for non-gear vehicle have to face trouble. In such a situation, the RTO had made a proposal that those making two-wheeler license will be given relief from going to Jhajra. The RTO proposal has been approved by the headquarters. Also, the online fee for permanent DL test for two-wheelers is Rs 900. Rs 118 is charged separately as service charge in IDTR. Now when the test will not be held in IDTR, this service charge will also not have to be paid.
RTO administration Sandeep Saini has told that to give the test for two-wheeler DL in the RTO office, the applicant will have to bring a helmet with him and the applicant should know how to drive a two-wheeler well. During the test on the driving track, there will be only one chance, if during this time the foot is put on the floor, then the applicant will be considered failed. Also, applicants have been appealed not to fall into the trap of any outsider. Apply online on the Sarathi software yourself or get the application done by paying a fee of Rs 30 at the Common Service Center. Before giving the test, the applicant will also have to give biometric finger prints. Also, a driving track has been made in the RTO office premises as per the prescribed standards, now the test can be taken here under the surveillance of cameras.
