The number of active patients has crossed 6 thousand, so many deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours

Corona is not gone yet. Corona has once again knocked in the country. Active cases have started increasing again. With the beginning of June 2025, active cases of COVID-19 have increased rapidly. Now by June 8, their number has crossed 6,000. At the same time, six people have died in the last 24 hours. However, this time the pace of infection is not that fast. But looking at the state-wise figures, it is clear that like before, Kerala, Delhi and Maharashtra have again become one of the most affected states.

Number of active patients crossed 6 thousand COVID-19 Cases 2025
According to the latest report of the Ministry of Health, there are a total of 6,133 active cases in the country. It is a matter of relief that so far 6,237 patients have recovered and been discharged. That is, the number of people recovering is slightly more than the active cases.

  • Kerala has the highest number of active cases at 1,806.
  • 717 in Gujarat
  • 665 in Delhi
  • 577 in Maharashtra
  • 444 active cases in Karnataka
  • Some states like Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh do not have a single active case at present, which is a matter of relief.

The number of deaths is also a cause of concern
7 deaths have been recorded in Delhi, 18 in Maharashtra, 12 in Kerala, 7 in Karnataka and 5 in Tamil Nadu due to corona. Most of the deaths have occurred in those people who were already suffering from some serious disease. In Karnataka, two elderly people aged 46 and 78 died who were already suffering from heart and lung disease. In Kerala, one person had a kidney transplant and one had cancer. A 42-year-old diabetic patient died in Tamil Nadu.

Government warning

The Health Ministry has appealed to people not to ignore any symptoms. If you feel mild fever, cold-cough or fatigue, get yourself tested immediately. Also, those who have not yet taken the booster dose have been advised to complete the vaccination as soon as possible.
