Three members of a family died in a fire in a building in Dwarka, Delhi. Videos from the spot showed the apartment building engulfed in flames and flames were emanating from the windows. To escape the fire, three members of the same family (2 children and a father) jumped from the balcony, resulting in their death.

According to Delhi Fire Services, the fire broke out on two floors of Sabad Apartment in Sector 13 of Dwarka area. Earlier, it was feared that 2-3 people were trapped in it. After which news came that two children (a boy and a girl, both 10 years old) jumped from the balcony to save themselves, who were declared dead at Aakash Hospital. Later, their father Yash Yadav (age 35 years) also jumped from the balcony, who was also declared dead at IGI Hospital. He was associated with the flex board business.

Amidst the sad news, the good news is that Yash Yadav’s wife and elder son survived the fire and are alive. They have been sent to IGI Hospital for medical assistance. All the residents of the society have been evacuated and all facilities like electricity and PNG connections have been cut off. DDA and MCD have been informed to assess the structural stability. Teams have been deployed at both Akash and IGI Hospital to help the family.

According to the report of news agency PTI, at around 10 am, a caller called Delhi Fire Service and informed about a fire in a residential apartment near MRV School. After this, 8 fire engines were also deployed by the fire department on the spot for rescue work. The fire department also installed a sky lift near the burning apartment so that if people are trapped, they can be evacuated.
