After the accident that took place on Monday morning near Jamuka village of Roza police station area on Lucknow-Delhi highway in Shahjahanpur, people did not come forward to help. The family members coming from behind in another vehicle told that they themselves broke the car window with an iron rod and took out the injured. When they left for the hospital in their car, a young man took 500 rupees in the name of showing the way.

Businessman Shivam Pandey, resident of Malav of Belipar police station of Gorakhpur, his two-year-old son Madhavan and sister Shweta Dwivedi, resident of Malviya Nagar of Khorabar police station area, died when the car collided with a truck at around six in the morning. Three other people were seriously injured. According to the family members, the passersby did not help them. Amritesh, a relative of Shivam, who was found at the postmortem house, said that he was unable to understand anything after the accident.

Amritesh told that no one was coming forward to help them. He broke the window with an iron rod and took out the injured family members. He took them to the hospital in his own car. When I asked people for directions, everyone would tell me to go straight. It was very painful when I had to pay 500 rupees to a young man for showing me the way.

Driver Angad could not tell the reason for the accident, he just kept crying

In the Government Medical College, Shivam Pandey’s driver Angad was crying a lot. Sometimes he would go to the mortuary and sometimes he would sit on the ground and cry. People who came from Gorakhpur tried to console him, but his tears were not stopping. Only one thing was coming out of his mouth that Shivam was like a king. I lived with him like a family. How all this happened, I had no idea. The speed of the car was also not high. The speed must have been around 60-70.

The family members who reached Shahjahanpur Government Medical College from Gorakhpur started crying after seeing the dead bodies. When their legs started faltering, the people who came with them held them. After postmortem, the police handed over the three bodies to their families. Amritesh said that they had left home at around 9 pm on Sunday night. They were travelling by stopping the car every two-three hours and drinking tea. He said that about ten minutes before the accident, everyone had stopped the car at Uchhauliya and had tea. His car was about 500 meters behind Shivam’s car.

Accident suspected to have happened due to driver dozing off

Roza police station team has reached the spot and investigated. The truck was standing on the side of the road. It is believed that the accident happened due to driver dozing off, but the driver is not saying anything right now. He is saying only one thing, he doesn’t know how all this happened. He starts crying if he talks too much. The accident was so severe that the Honda City car got badly damaged after colliding with the truck. Shalini’s condition is critical, she is in coma.

Shweta’s husband is a deputy CMO

The family members said that Shweta Dwivedi’s husband Dr. Neeraj Dwivedi is a deputy CMO. His son Shivansh has been injured in the accident. He has been referred to Lucknow. Dr. Neeraj has reached Lucknow. Shivam Pandey’s wife Shalini is being treated in the ICU at the Government Medical College. She will also be referred from here when her condition improves.

Shivam’s relative is a former CM

The family members said that Shivam Pandey’s father is the cousin of former UP Chief Minister Kamlapati Tripathi. Shivam Pandey’s brother-in-law has been a former Congress MLA in Deoria. He reached Shahjahanpur after the accident and consoled the family.

There was also a plan to go to Haridwar from Nainital

Shivam’s sister Shweta’s children were on summer vacation. During this time, everyone planned to go to Nainital. There was also a plan to go to Haridwar after Nainital. That is why the family members left in two vehicles, but death took away their happiness.

Report filed against truck driver

The police has taken the truck into custody and filed a report against the driver. Also, the police team is looking for CCTV footage and eyewitnesses so that action can be taken forward by recording statements.
