Uttarakhand: Case of death of a youth during road construction, Maharaj suspended the contract of the company
The negligence in the road widening and strengthening work from Gumkhal to Satpuli on NH-119 in Pauri has now proved costly. After the action of Public Works Minister Satpal Maharaj, the contract of the company has been suspended.

Let us tell you that after the death of Dugadda resident youth Suman Devrani in a dispute over removing debris on the road by the Pokland driver of the company engaged in construction work, Public Works Minister Satpal Maharaj has taken a tough stand. The minister took immediate cognizance of the matter and suspended the contract of the concerned company and directed strict legal action against the accused Pokland driver.
The accident happened on June 7
The incident happened late night on June 7. The road was being opened after cutting on Gumkhal-Satpuli road. During this, a dispute broke out between the company’s Pokland driver and the passengers. In the clash between the two sides, the driver hit a young man with a Pokland machine, due to which he died on the spot. The minister categorically stated that the construction company has completely failed to monitor the activities of its workers. Neither was there adequate security at the work site nor was the debris completely removed after the cutting, which posed a danger to the passengers.
