Uttarakhand: Haridwar land scam- The script of the scam worth crores was written at the behest of the mastermind – Morcha

Jan Sangharsh Morcha President and former Vice President of GMVN Raghunath Singh has raised serious questions on the government and investigation agencies regarding the Haridwar Municipal Corporation land scam.

He said that the recommendation of vigilance investigation by the government is commendable, but the mastermind officer who prepared the script of the entire scam has not been taken into the circle of investigation till now.

Negi alleged that this mastermind has deep penetration in the government and on his instructions the officials changed the land use and about 30 bighas of land was taken into private ownership overnight. Due to this the government suffered a loss of about Rs 40 crore.

He said that till now 12 officers have been suspended or their service extension has been terminated, but even an FIR has not been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act. This raises the question that why is the real culprit being saved?

Negi said that the Morcha assures these suspended officers that if they reveal the name of the mastermind officer, then the Morcha will go to the court to bring him to justice. He said that the culprits must be punished, but to spare the real culprit is a betrayal of both the public and justice.

Jan Sangharsh Morcha has demanded from the Raj Bhawan that a CBI inquiry be conducted into this entire matter and action be ensured by lodging an FIR against the corrupt officials. Vijayram Sharma and Dilbag Singh were also present in the press conference.
