Uttarakhand: Harish Rawat started ‘Tiranga Samman’ padyatra from Almora, accused the government of destroying Gandhi’s thinking

c
Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat today took out a ‘Tiranga Samman’ padyatra in Someshwar of Almora. The padyatra started from the martyr’s place Chanoda. During this, tributes were paid to dozens of freedom fighters including freedom fighter Shantilal Trivedi by hailing them. On one hand, slogans were raised in the honour of freedom fighters including the tricolour during the padyatra, while on the other hand, anger was also expressed against the government.
Harish Rawat said that he is taking out padyatras with the tricolour at various places under the Jai Hind campaign. He said that today for ‘Tiranga ki Jai’ it is also necessary to make people aware against communalism and forces dividing the society. Work to make people aware against the government of lies and loot.
He said that a two-day padyatra will be organised in the areas of all the ministers of the government in the same manner. It has been started today from the immortal place of freedom, Chanoda. The tricolour flag that is fluttering is a symbol of how the freedom struggle was fought. The Khadi Ashram situated here is a symbol of how Gandhian thinking was taken forward. But today all those thoughts are being destroyed. Efforts are being made to forget Gandhi.
At such a time it is necessary that we go to the places of Gandhi and the places of Gandhi’s thinking. We should also bow down to those places from where the freedom struggle was fought and blow the conch from there. We should blow the conch against those who are the pillars of corruption, lies and loot politics. For this, today the people of Congress have come to Boraro Valley, the place of freedom struggle.
He said that, against the kind of environment that is created in the country, Congress is taking out a yatra to maintain the pride of the tricolor. Against the anti-people policies of the state government, the government will be exposed in the assembly constituency of every minister of the state and the failure of the state government will be put in front of the public.
