Uttarakhand: Dhami government prepared before monsoon, PWD did homework, prepared 338 alternative routes, bridges will be inspected in 15 days

Monsoon is going to knock in Uttarakhand soon. During the monsoon season, disaster-like situations keep happening in the state, especially in the mountainous region. But the roads are damaged the most due to this disaster. In this, not only the road routes get obstructed due to landslides, but many times the roads get damaged. Due to which the movement comes to a halt. In view of this, the Public Works Department has identified 338 alternative routes. In such a situation, if the main roads are obstructed during the monsoon, then during that time the traffic will be smoothened through alternative routes.
Alternative routes identified: Due to the adverse geographical conditions of the state of Uttarakhand, disaster-like situations keep happening. But during the monsoon season, the condition of the state becomes very pathetic. Because during this time, not only the problem of water logging arises in many parts of the state, but the traffic also gets disrupted. Due to which the connection of many rural routes with the cities is broken. Not only this, the passengers and local people traveling also have to face a lot of problems. In view of these problems, the Public Works Department has identified about 1104 roads in the state, which have been obstructed during the monsoon season. In such a situation, 338 alternative routes have also been identified in relation to 1104 roads. So that the traffic can be smoothened.
278 machines will be deployed: At the same time, Rajesh Chandra Sharma, Head of the Public Works Department, said that like every year, preparations have been made in view of the upcoming monsoon season. Chronic landslide zones have been identified. Also, a blueprint has been prepared for the deployment of JCB and Poklane machines. Under which 278 machines will be deployed during the monsoon season. Apart from this, this time the PWD department has also identified 1104 roads, which get obstructed due to landslides during the monsoon season. In such a situation, 338 alternative routes have also been identified to smoothen the traffic.
Repair of 66 bridges: PWD Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that an investigation was conducted to know the condition of the bridges in the state. In which 91 bridges were found unsafe. Out of which 66 bridges have been repaired. In such a situation, these bridges have become safe for travel. Approvals are being given to repair the remaining bridges.
In view of the upcoming monsoon, instructions have been given to inspect all the small and big bridges in the state within the next 15 days. Along with this, instructions have also been given that if any bridge is found unsafe, then a proposal should be prepared immediately to make it safe and sent to the government.
