Uttarakhand: UIIDB Executive Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary

A meeting of the Executive Committee of UIIDB (Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.
In the meeting, extensive discussions were held on 25 projects proposed under the Rishikesh Ganga Corridor Project run by UIIDB.
These important projects for the development of Rishikesh are related to river rafting development, development of PWD guest house, Astha Path, parking development, Sanjay Lake redevelopment, water supply, Chardham Yatra management, storm water drainage infrastructure, sewerage infrastructure, Kanwar Yatra management, crowd management, road widening, bridge construction, solid waste management, sanitation, expansion and beautification of ghats.
The Chief Secretary, while receiving the current status report of the projects, directed to expedite its progress.
He directed the Public Works Department to take advance action on the works related to river bridges, road widening and cross river bridge construction.
He directed to develop Rishikesh’s river rafting project as an international rafting center.
Directed the concerned officials to expedite the progress of work related to Rishikesh Ganga Corridor project at whatever level is required.
Directed to complete all construction works speedily and transparently keeping in mind public facilities.
The Chief Secretary directed to do a detailed study of the route connecting Majri Grant of Dehradun and Haripur Kalan of Haridwar, which will prove important from the point of view of Kanwar Yatra management. So that Kanwar Yatra can be conducted in an even better way.
The Chief Secretary asked to bring the design and implementation of the project on the ground in such a way that Rishikesh emerges as a systematic, jam-free, easy mobility and better drainage city. To improve the progress of the works, better coordination should be established between various agencies and various departments and work on an integrated model by assimilating the locality of the city.
Principal Secretary R K Sudhanshu, L L Fanai, R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, Nitesh Kumar Jha, Sachin Kurve, Dilip Jawalkar, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Chandresh Kumar Yadav, V Shanmugam, Dr R Rajesh Kumar, Vinay Shankar Pandey and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
