After the Uttarakhand Gaurikund helicopter accident, a high-level meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Senior officials, DGCA, Secretary Civil Aviation and all the concerned officers were present in this meeting. It was decided in the meeting that the Chardham service of Aryan Aviation would be suspended with immediate effect. According to the press release issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on the morning of June 15, Aryan Aviation’s Bell 407 helicopter, which was operating from Kedarnath to Guptkashi, became a victim of a tragic accident. In this accident, 6 devotees and the pilot on board the helicopter died. A 2-year-old girl is also among the dead.
Senior officials of the Uttarakhand government, Civil Aviation Secretary, DGCA and concerned officials attended the high-level meeting held by the CM. Several steps were taken in this meeting. In which the biggest step is that the flights of Aryan Aviation, the heli service operating agency, for the Chardham Yatra have been suspended with immediate effect.
At the same time, DGCA got information that even after the Gaurikund helicopter accident, two helicopters of M/s Trans Bharat Aviation were found flying in the same weather. Taking action on this, DGCA has suspended the licenses of helicopter pilot Captain Yogesh Grewal and pilot Captain Jitendra Harjai for 6 months each. Also, all charter and shuttle helicopter services in Chardham Yatra have been suspended on 15 and 16 June 2025 for security reasons.
