The Home Ministry of the Government of India has issued a notification regarding the census. Under this, the census in the country will be started from 2027. However, the time has been changed in the areas of some states. These are the areas of those states which remain snow-covered. Here, in Uttarakhand, the teacher organization is already demanding to keep them out of the census.

The last census was done in the year 2011: Let us tell you that the census was conducted in the country in the year 2011 and after that the census has not been done till now. However, the census was to be done after 10 years in 2021, but due to Corona (Covid 19), this process could not be taken forward. In such a situation, now the Government of India is preparing for the next census. For this, the Home Ministry of the Government of India has now issued a notification.

According to the notification, the census of the population of India will be done during the year 2027. Census work will be started all over the country. For this, a notification has been issued to start the census from March 1, 2027. Although it will be applicable across the country, a different time has been fixed for special areas of some states.

Census will start from 1 October 2026 in these states: A different time has been fixed in the Gazette i.e. notification for some areas of the hilly states in the country. In this, apart from the Union Territories of Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, the census will be started from 1 October 2026 for the snow-covered area of Uttarakhand.

Teachers made this appeal in Uttarakhand: On the other hand, teachers of Uttarakhand have already been seen avoiding the census. Teacher organizations have been demanding that the government should get only teaching work done from teachers and census work should not be taken from them.

“For this, the matter has already been put before the department and the government and a demand has been made to get only educational work done from the teachers. Census work takes a lot of time and this also affects educational work. Therefore, teachers should be kept away from the census.”
