Uttarakhand: Chief Minister Single Women Self Employment Scheme; Application starts from June 18, so many women will get benefit

The Uttarakhand government has taken a big step towards making women self-reliant. State Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya on Monday formally launched the Chief Minister Single Women Self-Employment Scheme. Under this scheme, applications have been sought from eligible women from June 18 to July 31, 2025.

After the approval of the cabinet last month, Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya launched this scheme on Monday. The objective of the scheme is to provide self-employment opportunities to unmarried, divorced, abandoned, destitute and disabled single women of the state.

What is the specialty of the scheme?

Rekha Arya said that under this scheme, self-employment projects up to ₹ 2 lakh will be accepted. In which the government will give up to 75% of the amount as grant. That is, the beneficiary will have to invest only 25% of the share himself.

Minister Rekha Arya said that a target has been set to benefit at least 2000 women under this scheme in the first year, looking at its progress in the first year, a decision will be taken to increase the number of beneficiaries in the scheme.

Rekha Arya said this

Rekha Arya said that “There are already many women-welfare schemes in the state. But there was no assistance scheme focused on single women till now. It is very important to make the women of this category financially strong. Therefore, this special scheme has been prepared for them.”

Where to apply?

All eligible women can apply by contacting the Women Empowerment Department of their respective districts. Detailed information related to the scheme will also be provided by the department.

Secretary Chandresh Kumar and Director Prashant Arya along with other officials were present during the meeting. The minister has urged all the women to take advantage of this scheme and take a strong step forward towards self-employment.
