Uttarakhand: Tree felling case in Khalanga forests, minister ordered investigation
The matter of cutting of trees in Khalanga forests of Dehradun is now gaining momentum. After the protest of environmentalists, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal has ordered an inquiry into the matter.

Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal has directed the Chief Forest Conservator to investigate the entire matter and submit a report immediately. Also, the minister has clarified that if any kind of negligence or irregularity is found in the investigation, strict action will be taken against the concerned.
Directions given to DM for joint inspection
Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal, considering the seriousness of the matter, has also instructed Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal to conduct a joint inspection with the Forest Department. After the inspection, a detailed report will be submitted to the state government.
