A lineman died a painful death due to electric shock late on Sunday night in Kichha area of Udham Singh Nagar. Energy Corporation has taken major action in the case. The subdivision officer of the corporation, considering it as negligence, has terminated the service of operator Arhan and supervisor Naseem Ahmed of Kuraiya substation with immediate effect.
Lineman dies due to electric shock in Kichha
The case is of Satya Metal Industry located in Malsa Girdharpur. Last Sunday at around 7:30 pm, lineman Shiv Kumar (48), resident of Shimla Pistour, had come to work on the complaint of blown fuse. Shiv Kumar called the substation and took shutdown and as soon as he touched the line, he got badly burnt due to electric shock. Within a few moments, he fell down and died on the spot.
Service of two officers terminated
In a press conference on Tuesday, the subdivision officer described this accident as serious and said that this accident happened due to the negligence of the substation staff. The investigation found that the operator and supervisor kept the line on without confirming the shutdown, which led to this accident. There is anger among the employees after the death of the lineman. The Energy Corporation has terminated the services of the corporation’s subdivision officer Kuraiya substation operator Arhan and supervisor Naseem.
