Truth and Reality

What was feared has happened! After 11 years, WhatsApp did this

Meta has finally done what people were afraid of for many years. This fear was of Ads on WhatsApp. Now this fear has become a reality. Meta (formerly Facebook) bought WhatsApp in 2014 for about $ 19 billion. After this deal, speculations were being made that like other platforms, ads (WhatsApp ads) will be seen on WhatsApp as well. Now something like this is going to happen.

New WhatsApp update

There is an important news for WhatsApp users. The instant messaging app has announced three major changes that can change your app experience in the coming time. The biggest change is that now ads will appear in the middle of your WhatsApp status. These ads will appear in such a way that they will be according to the user’s interest and choice. That is, if you watch more content related to food, travel or fitness, then ads related to that can be seen.

WhatsApp ads will now appear between statuses

Although this change may seem a bit strange to some people. But WhatsApp claims that this will improve the connection between business and user. The special thing is that all the changes will be applicable only in the Updates Tab. Personal chat will remain completely separate and secure from this.

Three new changes in WhatsApp

Channel subscription:

Now WhatsApp channels will be like YouTube. That means you will be able to take a subscription to join your favorite channel. Some content will be free, but to get exclusive updates, you will have to pay some money every month.

Promoted channels:

Just like channels are promoted on YouTube, now on WhatsApp too, channel admins will be able to reach their channel to more people by paying money. This will help small or new channels to grow.

Ads in status:

Now ads will appear in the middle of WhatsApp status. These ads will be based on the user’s interest. The company says that this will benefit the business. However, some users may find the experience of viewing status a little strange.

Will chats no longer be secure?

On this question, WhatsApp has clarified that the new changes are only in the status or updates tab. Your chats, voice calls and video calls will remain end-to-end encrypted as before. That means no one can read your private conversations. Not even WhatsApp.

The overall point is that WhatsApp is moving towards combining business and content together. But there will be no compromise on your privacy and chat security.
