Israel-Iran tension: Russia warns America – if it interferes, there will be serious consequences; China appeals for peace
Russia on Thursday warned the US not to take any military action against Iran as there is speculation that the US could be involved in a war with Israel.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, “We especially want to warn Washington not to intervene militarily in this situation,” news agency AFP reported. She said doing so would be a very dangerous step, which could have completely unexpected and harmful consequences.
Putin and Jinping condemned Israel’s attacks
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping strongly condemned Israel’s air strikes on Iran. Both leaders appealed to all parties to resolve the dispute diplomatically and prevent war. Xi Jinping said, the parties involved in the conflict, especially Israel, should immediately stop the attacks so that the situation does not deteriorate further and the war does not spread to other areas, AFP quoted the Chinese news agency as saying.
Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov told reporters that both countries (Russia and China) have the same viewpoint and both have strongly condemned Israel’s action. Both leaders also agreed that preventing war in West Asia is the biggest priority at the moment. According to Xinhua, Xi Jinping said, ceasefire and stopping attacks are most important. The right way to resolve international disputes is dialogue, not weapons.
Israeli Defense Minister warns Khamenei
This conversation between Putin and Jinping took place at a time when the situation in West Asia is deteriorating rapidly. Military clashes between Israel and Iran are increasing continuously. Amidst this tension, on Thursday, Iran retaliated by launching a missile attack on ‘Soroka Hospital’ in southern Israel. This attack is considered very serious.
At the same time, the Israeli Army (IDF) said in a statement that many of our bases were attacked with missiles. One of these missiles also targeted the largest hospital in southern Israel. Shortly after this attack, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz publicly threatened for the first time to eliminate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. This is considered to be the harshest statement from him during this conflict so far.
Katz told AFP in the city of Holon near Tel Aviv, Khamenei openly says that he wants to destroy Israel. He himself orders to attack hospitals. Eradicating Israel is a goal for him. He further said, such a person cannot be allowed to live anymore.
Earlier, Israel carried out a deadly airstrike on Iran’s ‘Arak Heavy Water Reactor’, due to which the ongoing confrontation between the two countries is now continuing for the seventh day and it has intensified even more. Before the attack, Israel threatened on social media. He posted pictures taken from the satellite. The targeted reactor was surrounded by a red circle. Common citizens were asked to leave the area.
