President Draupadi Murmu’s visit to Uttarakhand: Will be in Dehradun from 19 to 21 June, will participate in many programs including World Yoga Day, Doon’s traffic will be diverted for 3 days

President Draupadi Murmu is arriving in Dehradun on Thursday i.e. today on a three-day visit. She will also celebrate her birthday on Friday at Rashtrapati Niketan situated on Rajpur Road. During this time, she will lay the foundation stone of a state-of-the-art public park being built on 132 acres of land in Rashtrapati Niketan.
President Draupadi Murmu will lay the foundation stone of the park in Rashtrapati Niketan and will also formally inaugurate the entry of common people here. After this, Rashtrapati Niketan will be opened to the general public from June 24. On the 21st, President Murmu will also participate in the Yoga Day program in the Police Line.
Traffic will be diverted
In view of the VVIP visit to Dehradun, traffic will be diverted from Thursday to Saturday. Vehicles coming from Rishikesh will come to Doon via Ranipokhari via Bhogpur-Thano and vehicles coming from Haridwar will come to Doowala via Dudhli. Vehicles going from Doon to Haridwar and Rishikesh will also be sent via Dudhli. Traffic will also be diverted within the city. Doon Police has appealed to the general public to follow the traffic plan.
Route of vehicles coming from Rishikesh
Vehicles coming from Rishikesh to Doon city and Mussoorie will come from Ranipokhari via Bhogpur-Thano-Raipur to number six culvert. From here these vehicles will be sent towards Sahasradhara crossing. Whereas, vehicles coming to Dehradun will come to Survey Chowk and vehicles coming to Mussoorie will go directly to Mussoorie via IT Park and Sai Mandir.
Route of vehicles coming from Haridwar
Vehicles going to Dehradun and Mussoorie from Haridwar will come from the service lane of the flyover at Bhaniawala via Doiwala Chowk to Dudhli and Kargi Chowk. From here all vehicles going to Mussoorie will go to Mussoorie via ISBT, Shimla bypass, GMS Road, Cantt and Anarwala.
This will be the route for those coming from Mussoorie
Vehicles going from Mussoorie to Haridwar and Rishikesh will be sent from Kuthalgate via Old Mussoorie Road, Sai Mandir, Kathbangla, Kirshali Chowk, IT Park, Sahasradhara Crossing, Number Six Bridge and Thano Road towards their destination.
This will be the route for those going to Mussoorie from Asharodi-Premnagar
Vehicles going to Mussoorie from Asharodi and Premnagar area will go to Mussoorie via ISBT, Shimla Bypass-GMS Road-Ballupur Chowk-Cantt, Anarwala. Vehicles going from Dehradun to Haridwar and Rishikesh will be sent from Kargi Chowk to Dudhli Marg, Doiwala Chowk, Bhaniyawala Service Lane, Laltappad, Nepali Farm Tiraha towards Rishikesh and Haridwar.
Traffic will be diverted in this way across the city
Vehicles going to Mussoorie from EC Road will be sent to Mussoorie via Survey Chowk, Sahasradhara Crossing, IT Park and Sai Mandir. Vehicles going to Mussoorie from Ghantaghar will be sent to Mussoorie via The Great Value, Canal Road, Kathbungla Bridge and Sai Mandir. Vehicles going to Mussoorie from Hathibarkala and Dilaram Chowk will be sent to Mussoorie via Dilaram, Great Value, Canal Road, Kathbungla Bridge and Sai Mandir.
DGP reviewed security for President’s visit
On Wednesday night, DGP Deepam Seth briefed the officers appointed on security duty in the Police Line regarding the three-day visit of President Draupadi Murmu. He has given instructions to ensure flawless security arrangements at the venue along with the VVIP route. While thoroughly reviewing the security arrangements, he emphasized on ensuring that there is no lapse at any level. He asked the officers to strengthen the security arrangements in their areas and be fully prepared against any possible threat.
