A contract lineman died of electrocution while working on a power line in Vaddakhal area of Rikhnikhal block of Pauri district. In such a situation, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami (CM Dhami) took a tough stand in this matter. Taking the incident seriously, Junior Engineer Shubham Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Chandramohan and Executive Engineer Vineet Kumar Saxena have been suspended with immediate effect.

Actually the action was taken after the complaint of MLA Mahant Dalip Singh Rawat. Which the Chief Minister himself took seriously and issued immediate instructions and asked to fix accountability.
Chief Minister Dhami made it clear that such negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed the officials to ensure that all necessary safety equipment like helmets, gloves, safety belts and insulated tools are present at the workplace during electrical works and their use should be ensured.
Safety of personnel is the priority of the government
The Chief Minister has also sought answers in this regard from the senior officials of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL). He said that it should be clarified how many safety equipment are currently available with the department.
Also, are these equipment reaching the employees working in the field effectively or not? The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government considers the life and safety of every employee paramount and any kind of negligence in this direction will not be considered excusable.
All officers and employees working in all departments should discharge their duties and responsibilities well. Take quick decisions and action keeping public interest paramount.
