Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Rudrasena caught short weighing, created ruckus, 15 LPG cylinders confiscated

Rudrasena workers caught short weighing in 15 cylinders of Dakpathar Gas Service. They created a ruckus demanding action against the agency. The team of Food Supply Department confiscated 15 cylinders after investigation. At the same time, the Legal Weights and Measures Department warned the agency operator for the future and took action of challan of Rs 10,000. On Thursday, Dhwajveer Tomar, resident of Vyas Nahari of Kalsi area, informed Rudrasena Foundation founder Rakesh Tomar Uttarakhandi about short weighing in LPG cylinders of Dakpathar Gas Agency. He reached Kalsi on the complaint. The workers themselves checked the weight of the cylinders with a weighing scale. The weight of 15 cylinders was found to be less than the prescribed. The workers started a ruckus demanding action against the agency. After that, the workers reached Kalsi police station. On the information of the police station, Regional Food Officer Surendra Chauhan, Supply Inspector Jitendra Joshi, Jagdish Prasad Saklani and Rahul Bahuguna reached the police station. The team informed AK Sharma, Senior Inspector of Legal Metrology Department. He reached the spot and checked the cylinders. The senior inspector of the Legal Metrology Department said that contrary to the set standard, two cylinders had more than two kilograms less gas. One cylinder had 2.440 kg less gas and the other had 2.550 kg less gas. The other 13 cylinders had gas shortage ranging from 35 grams to 1.70 kg. He said that a challan of Rs 10,000 has been issued against the gas agency operator. Meanwhile, regional food inspector Surendra Chauhan said that all 15 cylinders have been seized for short weighing. The consumer whose cylinder was found to have less gas was asked to replace the cylinder. He said that the team of both the departments will jointly run a campaign to check domestic and commercial gas cylinders in the area. The founder of the organization, Rakesh Tomar Uttarakhandi, said that complaints of short weighing are being received continuously in the gas cylinders of Dakpathar Agency. He demanded strict action against the gas agency. He said that if short-weighing is detected again, the workers will be forced to launch a fierce agitation.
