The situation in the country and the world is constantly changing. There has been a military confrontation with Pakistan. On the other hand, the threat from China remains constant. In such a situation, India is facing defense challenges on two fronts. In view of this, the defense system is being constantly strengthened. The government is constantly taking many important and big decisions keeping in view the needs of the Army as well as the Air Force and Navy. Recently, the rules related to defense purchase have been changed and made more simple. The situation has changed after Operation Sindoor. China has decided to sell fifth generation fighter jets to Pakistan. Now it has become necessary for India to equip the Air Force with 5th generation fighter jets, so that future challenges can be dealt with. If the report is to be believed, India can immediately buy American F-35 or Russian Su-57E fighter aircraft. If some reports are to be believed, India can buy fifth generation aircraft from Russia, because it is better in terms of price and technology transfer conditions. Amidst all this exercise, India is also engaged in developing indigenous fighter jets with indigenous technology. DRDO and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) are jointly engaged in developing fifth and sixth generation fighter jets under the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) project. Meanwhile, there is news that HAL is going to deliver the Tejas MK1A fighter jet soon. Tejas MK1A is a 4.5 generation fighter aircraft. Many updates have been made in MK1A as compared to Tejas Light Combat Aircraft. The Air Force has signed a deal with HAL to provide 83 Tejas MK1A in the year 2021. This deal is worth Rs 48000 crore. Now another deal of Rs 67000 crore has been done, under which 97 Tejas MK1A fighter jets are to be provided. Despite all the problems, HAL is now preparing to deliver the MK1A fighter jet. It is being told that the flight testing of Tejas MK1A will take place in July and after that it will be started to be given to the Indian Air Force. The F404-IN20 engine developed by American defense company General Electric (GE) has been used in Tejas MK1A. This engine is considered advanced in terms of fighter jets. Due to the delay in supplying the engine by GE Aerospace, the production and delivery of Tejas MK1A fighter jet has been delayed by about 16 months. Serious objections were also lodged by the Air Force on several occasions regarding the delay in the supply of fighter jets. Let us tell you that the Air Force needs 42 squadrons of fighter jets, while only 32 squadrons are available. In such a situation, concern has also been raised by defense experts regarding this.

Fighter jet to compete with Rafale

India has bought 36 Rafale fighter jets from French defence company Dassault Aviation to meet its immediate needs. It has cost thousands of crores of rupees. Now an agreement has been signed to buy an updated version of Rafale for the Navy. Its budget is also thousands of crores of rupees. Rafale fighter jet is a 4.5 generation advanced fighter aircraft. Desi Tejas MK1A fighter jet developed with indigenous technology is also a 4.5 generation aircraft. In such a situation, it is a fighter aircraft to compete with Rafale, which will meet the needs of the Indian Armed Forces. It is a multirole fighter jet, in which ultra-modern engine has been used. HAL has made Tejas MK1A compatible with Indian missiles and other weapons. Let us tell you that Brahmos cruise missile does not fit in Rafale jet. After long talks with Dassault, now there is an agreement to install Brahmos in it. There will be no such problem with Tejas MK1A.

Speed more than 2000 kilometers per hour

The indigenous Tejas MK1A fighter jet is a supersonic aircraft capable of attacking enemies at a speed of 1.8 Mach. In this way, the Tejas MK1A jet can fly at a speed of 2222 kilometers per hour. Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missiles can be fired from the Tejas MK1A jet. Apart from this, air to air and air to land missiles can also be fitted in MK1A, which makes the updated version of Tejas even more lethal. Let us tell you that BVR missiles are such missiles, which are capable of destroying even the invisible targets. This means that the target which the pilot is not able to see can also be targeted through it.

Better than F-16 in this case

If the report is to be believed, HAL will deliver the first batch of 12 Tejas MK1A fighter jets by the end of this year. HAL has prepared three production lines to speed up the production of Tejas MK1A. There are two production lines in Bengaluru and one in Nashik. Each production line will be able to develop 8 Tejas MK1A in a year, thus 24 fighter jets can be made in a year. The interesting thing is that Tejas MK1A is better than the American F-16 fighter jet in some cases. Tejas MK1A is better than F-16 in avionics design as well as radar system. Let us tell you that advanced AESA radar system has been installed in Tejas MK1A fighter jet. Apart from this, it will not be easy for the enemies to jam this jet. It is worth noting that Pakistan has F-16 fighter jets from the 80s.
