Amid the US attack on Iran, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday had a telephonic conversation with Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian. The two leaders had a serious discussion on the rising tensions in the region and recent developments.
Giving information about this conversation, Prime Minister Modi tweeted, “We discussed the current situation in detail. Expressed deep concern over the recent tensions. Reiterated the call to immediately reduce tensions and pursue dialogue and diplomacy so that peace, security and stability can be restored in the region at the earliest.” During the conversation, Prime Minister Modi stressed on giving priority to regional peace, stability and mutual cooperation. He said that India has always believed that dialogue and diplomacy are the solutions to any crisis.

Masoud Pezeshkian has got a new responsibility after the recent presidential elections in Iran. In this context, PM Modi also congratulated him and expressed his desire to further strengthen India-Iran relations. US attacks increased the danger: United Nations
