Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Anger against drug abuse in Brahmapuri ward of Dharampur assembly constituency, announcement to gherao police station

BJP workers and residents of the area organized a meeting against the growing drug business and the inaction of the police in Brahmapuri Ward-74, which comes under Dharampur Assembly. In the meeting, deep concern was expressed about the drug addiction spreading in the area and its serious social side effects.

The meeting was chaired by councilor Satish Kashyap. Satish said that now it is enough. Despite informing the police several times, no concrete action is being taken. He said that it seems as if the police is deliberately turning a blind eye. The BJP officials and citizens present in the meeting alleged that the police are only performing formalities, due to which the spirits of the drug sellers are increasing. Due to the increased movement of outsiders in the area, unrest is spreading, fights are taking place in the localities and the young generation is moving towards destruction.

Preparation to surround the police station and SSP office
It was decided in the meeting that if action is not taken soon, the regional police station will be surrounded. Apart from this, a warning was also given to gherao the Dehradun SSP office. BJP workers said that this is just the beginning, now a do-or-die battle will be fought against drug abuse. Local people said that due to drug abuse, bikers creating ruckus in the streets and mohallas, small children carrying drugs, and mutual fights have become common now. Families are worried about their children.
