Uttarakhand: Kanwar Yatra will be monitored with Nabh Netra drone, ACEO Administration Anand Swaroop gave instructions, various topics were discussed in the meeting regarding Kanwar Yatra

The Nabh Netra drone of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority will be stationed in Haridwar during the Kanwar Yatra this year. Crowded places, roads, ghats and bridges of Haridwar will be monitored through drones. The visuals of the Nabh Netra drone will be continuously monitored from the State and District Emergency Operations Center. During a meeting held in the USDMA situation control room on Saturday regarding the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra, Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration, Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority gave these instructions.

The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority has also started its preparations for the Kanwar Yatra starting from July 11. On Saturday, a meeting was held regarding the Kanwar Yatra under the chairmanship of Anand Swaroop, Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration, Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority. He informed that the notification of IRS has been issued. IRS can prove useful in effectively dealing with possible disasters and contingencies during the Kanwar Yatra. He asked the officials of the districts related to the Kanwar Yatra to adopt the IRS system and under this, prepare a plan for the Yatra from the perspective of disaster management.

Swaroop said that mutual coordination between various departments is very important for the smooth and successful conduct of Kanwar Yatra. He directed to nominate a responsible officer for single point of contact in all departments and share their list with SEOC and DEOC. Let us tell you that the District Emergency Operation Center will be made the master control room for the Kanwar Yatra and the entire monitoring of the Yatra will be done from here. Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi, Duty Officer Joint Secretary Vikram Singh Rana, Joint Chief Executive Officer Mohd. Obaidullah Ansari etc. were present in the meeting.

Focus will be on Kanwar in the mock drill of 30th

Dehradun. During the state level mock drill being organized by USDMA regarding flood on June 30, a special mock drill will be conducted to check the safe Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar and security arrangements at the Ganga Ghats. Additional Chief Executive Officer Administration Anand Swaroop especially gave instructions for this.

Sachet app will be downloaded in the mobile of Kanwariyas

Dehradun. Sachet app will be downloaded in the mobile phones of Kanwariyas coming on Kanwar Yatra. Additional Chief Executive Officer Implementation DIG Rajkumar Negi of Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority said that Sachet app can play a big role in providing weather related information and alerts to Kanwariyas during monsoon period. He directed to install hoardings and bar codes related to downloading Sachet app at entry points. Kanwariyas will also be informed about toll free numbers 112, 1070, 1077 so that they can call these numbers and ask for help in case of any emergency.

SDRF, NDRF also deployed at Ganga Ghats

Dehradun. Special arrangements are also being made for the safety of Kanwariyas at Ganga Ghats. During the meeting, officials of security forces said that apart from SDRF, NDRF, Water Police, 60 disaster friends will also be deployed at Ganga Ghats. Special security arrangements will be made at Kangra Ghat. A team of NDRF will be stationed in Haridwar during the Kanwar Yatra and additional teams will be dispatched from Dehradun if required.

Possible contingencies during the Kanwar Yatra

Dehradun. SCEO Administration Anand Swaroop directed to be prepared to control possible contingencies such as stampede, drowning in the river, fire in Bhandara Sthal, temporary camps, rain, flood and waterlogging, spread of infectious diseases, traffic jam problem, accidents etc. from the perspective of disaster management during the Kanwar Yatra and to immediately establish contact with the State Emergency Operation Center in case of any contingency.

Special arrangements will also be made for protection from wild animals

Dehradun. Instructions were also given to make special arrangements for the protection of Kanwar pilgrims from wild animals. The Forest Department was directed to identify such sensitive areas and make proper arrangements for security there. Along with this, the Electricity Department was also instructed to make proper arrangements so that the high-height Kanwars are not threatened by electric wires.
