Uttarakhand: Tomorrow is the 50th anniversary of the Emergency imposed in the country, the program will be organized at the CM residence, Dhami will honor the families of the late democracy fighters of the state

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency, a state level dialogue program will be organized at the Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday, June 25. In this program, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will felicitate the state’s democracy fighters who were detained under MISA and DIR during the Emergency and the wife or husband of the deceased democracy fighters, as well as share the experiences of the Emergency period. On this occasion, along with organizing programs with extensive public participation in all the districts of the state, exhibitions will also be organized about the Emergency at fifty places.
Emergency was imposed in the country from 25 June 1975 to 21 March 1977. In the meeting held under the chairmanship of Additional Secretary Home Nivedit Kukreti, several important decisions were taken to organize various programs in the state as per the instructions of the Government of India on the 50th anniversary of the imposition of Emergency, responsibilities of organizing programs have been assigned to various departments and District Magistrates. It was decided in the meeting that in the dialogue program organized at the Chief Minister’s residence on June 25, the state’s democracy fighters who were detained under MISA and DIR during the Emergency and the wives or husbands of deceased democracy fighters will be respectfully invited through the respective District Magistrates.
