A case has come to light of a person from Chamoli district being made a bonded labourer in Punjab for the last 15 years. Pauri MP Anil Baluni has taken cognizance of the matter and has spoken to the Governor of Punjab in this regard and requested to free the person. Baluni has also shared a post on social media in this regard.
A person from Chamoli was made a bonded labourer in Punjab, Anil Baluni posted
Baluni wrote, “I found a video on social media in which it is told that a young man from Narayanbagh (Chamoli) of Uttarakhand has been kept as a bonded labourer by a cowshed owner somewhere in Punjab for fifteen years. The gentleman who made the video is talking about freeing and helping the young man.”
MP Anil Baluni further wrote, “As soon as this matter came to my notice, I spoke to the Honorable Governor of Punjab and informed him about this incident and requested that Rajesh ji be rescued as soon as possible and taken to his native village Narayanbagh, Chamoli”.

The Governor expressed concern on this issue and assured me that Rajesh’s location will be tracked and he will be rescued and taken to his native village Narayanbagh, Chamoli as soon as possible. After this, I was also informed by the Governor’s office that instructions have been given to the Director General of Police, Punjab regarding this incident.
Video going viral on social media
In the video, a local person from Punjab is seen talking to Rajesh. The Punjab resident was trying to talk to Rajesh, when Rajesh said that ask my boss before talking. He beats me for not doing my work. In the video, Rajesh of Chamoli district is seen scared and frightened.
