America will hold direct talks with Iran… Trump announced, said- can also sign the agreement

US President Donald Trump said US and Iranian officials will hold talks next week to resume talks that were disrupted by the recent conflict between Israel and Tehran. “Let me tell you that we are going to be talking to Iran next week. We can even sign an agreement,” Trump said at a press conference during the NATO summit in the Netherlands. Trump said he had no particular interest in resuming talks with Iran. He stressed that US attacks have destroyed Iran’s nuclear program.
Israel-Iran ceasefire comes into effect
A fragile ceasefire between Israel and Iran appeared to hold on Wednesday after a rocky start, raising hopes that a long-term peace deal could be reached. However, Tehran has insisted it will not give up its nuclear program. The ceasefire came into effect on Tuesday, the 12th day of the war between Israel and Iran. Although both sides initially accused each other of violating it, missile, drone and bomb attacks eventually stopped.
Trump also sang the tune of ceasefire in Netherlands
US President Donald Trump told reporters at a NATO summit in the Netherlands on Wednesday that it (ceasefire) is going ‘very well’. Trump, who helped bring about the ceasefire, said, “They will not make a bomb and they will not enrich.” However, Iran has insisted that it will not give up its nuclear program. At the same time, the Iranian Parliament agreed in a vote to fast-forward a proposal that would effectively stop the country’s cooperation with the Vienna-based United Nations organization International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The IAEA has been monitoring Iran’s nuclear program for years.
Iran criticises IAEA
Before the vote, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf criticised the IAEA for “not even condemning” the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities on Sunday. “For this reason, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will suspend cooperation with the IAEA until the safety of nuclear facilities is ensured and Iran’s peaceful nuclear programme moves forward at a faster pace,” Qalibaf told lawmakers.
