Big change regarding CBSE Class 10 Board Exams!
CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said that from 2026, the board examinations of class 10 will be held in two phases. The first phase in February and the second phase in May. The special thing is that it will be mandatory for all the students to appear in the first examination. Whereas appearing in the second examination will be optional. If a student does not like the marks of his first exam, then he can appear in the second exam again.
Now the examination will be conducted twice a year
Out of these two, the exam in which the better marks are obtained will be considered as final. Meaning the student will get another chance to get a better score. Which will also reduce stress and increase confidence.
Internal assessment will be done only once
However, internal assessment will be done only once a year as before. That is, the assessment of projects, activities and classroom performance will be done only once and will not be repeated.
Will be implemented from 2026
CBSE believes that with this decision, there will be no pressure on students to put everything at stake at once. Now they will have full opportunity to correct their mistakes and perform better. This change will be implemented from 2026. That is, the students who are currently in class 8 will give the exam under this new system.
