Uttarakhand: HC’s ban on panchayat elections remains intact; Today the government presented its side, hearing will be held tomorrow

The ongoing dispute regarding Panchayat elections was heard in the Nainital High Court today. The court has maintained the stay on Panchayat elections for the time being. Now the hearing of this case will be held on June 26.

HC’s stay on Panchayat elections remains intact

While presenting its side in the court on behalf of the state government, it was said that the rules were prepared on June 9, 2025 regarding Panchayat elections, after which the reservation rotation was issued on June 11, and its gazette notification was published on June 14.

Hearing will be held on June 26

The Uttarakhand government said that the entire reservation roster has been prepared under the prevailing rules, there is no discrimination or error in it. Now all eyes are on the next hearing to be held tomorrow i.e. on Thursday. At present, the High Court’s stay on Panchayat elections remains intact.
