Imagine a person serving a jail sentence for a crime he never committed. One such shocking case is coming to light from Kushalnagar in Karnataka. Where a tribal man Kurubara Suresh served jail sentence for about two years for the alleged murder of his wife Mallige.

Which he never committed. His wife was found alive. In such a situation, he has demanded compensation of five crores in the High Court. Along with this, he has also demanded action against the police officers involved in the wrong arrest.

The person sought compensation of 5 crores from the court

Actually this whole case is of Basavanahalli in Kushalnagar taluk. Suresh, a resident of where, was acquitted by the 5th Additional District and Sessions Court of Mysore in April 2025. The Karnataka Home Department directed the court to give him one lakh rupees as compensation. But he was not satisfied with this compensation. For which he filed an appeal in the High Court.

Was accused of killing his wife

In the petition, Suresh accused five police personnel of tampering with evidence, arrest without due process and misuse of position. He demanded five crores in compensation. Along with this, criminal action was also taken against these officers.

Wife found alive

Actually this whole matter is of the year 2021. Suresh filed a complaint about his wife’s disappearance. In the year 2022, some bones were recovered from Bettadapura police station area of ​​​​neighboring Mysore district. Without proper investigation, the police guessed that these are the bones of his wife Mallige. Suresh was pressured to tell that these bones belong to Mallige. Let us tell you that its DNA test was also not done.

Was eating in a restaurant

On this basis, Suresh was arrested on charges of murder. He remained in police custody for about 18 months. Later the DNA test was done on the orders of the court. In which it was found that those bones were not of his wife. After which Suresh was released.

In April 2025, Suresh’s friends saw his wife eating at a restaurant in Madikeri. In such a situation, the whereabouts of his wife for the last three years and the circumstances of her disappearance are being investigated.
