Kanwar Yatra is going to start in Uttarakhand from July 11. The government administration is busy in its preparation. At present, other arrangements are being completed for the Kanwariyas coming on the Kanwar Yatra, including drinking water, toilets, repair of Kanwar track. A meeting of high officials of many states will be held on June 27 regarding permission for DJ and height of Kanwar.
Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that Kanwar Yatra is one of the important yatras of the state. Since the Corona period, the number of Kanwariyas coming to Kanwar Yatra is increasing year after year. The number of Kanwariyas coming to Kanwar Yatra is reaching 4.5 crores. In such a situation, the preparations are being finalized by the government administration regarding the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. Recently, a meeting was also held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary regarding the preparation of Kanwar Yatra. In which detailed discussion was held with the concerned departmental officers regarding the preparation. During the meeting, all the departmental officers were given guidelines to complete the works on time.
In terms of security arrangements in the Kanwar Yatra, adequate arrangements are being made by the Police Headquarters. Also, 20 companies of CPMF (Central Paramilitary Forces) have been sought from the Government of India. At present, due to monsoon, the number of devotees coming to the Char Dham Yatra has started decreasing. Therefore, gradually the duty of the police and PAC of the districts deployed on the Char Dham Yatra routes will be removed from the Char Dham Yatra routes and deployed in the Kanwar Yatra.
Kanwariyas come from about 5 states bordering the state in the Kanwar Yatra. Which includes Haryana, Delhi, Western Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh. In such a situation, an inter-state meeting will be held on June 27 with the high officials of these states. In which a decision will be taken regarding the matter of playing DJ during the Kanwar Yatra, the height of the Kanwar. It has been decided to make an SOP regarding the Kanwar Yatra.
