A major suicide attack has taken place in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. This attack was carried out in the same way as the Pulwama attack was carried out in India 6 years ago. In the attack, the suicide bomber drove a vehicle loaded with explosives into a military convoy. This killed 16 soldiers, while 10 were injured. Apart from this, the explosion also damaged the surrounding houses, due to which 19 civilians including women and children were injured.
Pakistan carried out the Pulwama attack in India. On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber entered the Indian Army convoy with a vehicle loaded with explosives, in which 40 soldiers were martyred. Pakistan’s terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed took responsibility for this. Later, India also avenged this attack by carrying out the Balakot strike. Now Pakistan itself is getting trapped in its own trap, the way it carried out attacks in India 6 years ago, now the Pakistan Army has been attacked in the same way.
Usud ul Harb of TTP group took responsibility
The attack took place in Khadi Market of Mir Ali in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. When a vehicle filled with explosives collided with a convoy of Pakistani army. It is also being told that the vehicle which collided with the explosive-laden vehicle was the army’s bomb disposal squad vehicle. Usud ul Harb of TTP group has taken responsibility for the attack. It is believed to be associated with Ittehad ul Mujahideen and Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group.
Roof of two houses collapsed
Quoting a police officer posted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, AFP has written that due to the explosion, the roof of two houses collapsed, due to which six children were injured. According to the police officer, this explosion also happened at a time when there has been an increase in terrorist attacks in areas like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. In a report by Geo News, the Pakistani army has claimed that it has killed 10 suspected terrorists belonging to the TTP. Earlier, terrorists had carried out a suicide attack on a Frontier Corps camp near the Jandola checkpost in South Waziristan.
Pakistan ranks second in deaths due to terrorism
According to the Global Terrorism Index 2025, terrorism-related deaths in Pakistan have increased by 45%, from 748 in 2023 to 1,081 in 2024. This has brought it to second place globally in terms of terrorist deaths. Afghanistan ranks first in this list.
