Government strict on encroachment on river banks in Uttarakhand, CM Dhami said- everyone involved in this will be punished

Those who occupy government land and make fake land documents by fraud or forgery will be tightened. Immediate steps will be taken to stop encroachment on the banks of various rivers including Ganga in Haridwar, Kalyani river in Rudrapur and Kosi in Nainital district. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed strict action on such cases. He said that a strong mechanism should be prepared to stop encroachment in government land.
In a high-level meeting at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday, Chief Minister Dhami reviewed the illegal encroachment being removed from government land. Adopting a tough attitude on encroachment, he said that instructions have already been issued to prepare an action plan to remove illegal encroachment on government land. Take effective action by complying with it at the district level. A campaign should be launched to remove encroachment by forming a team of Irrigation, Public Works, Forest and Revenue departments.
Nodal officer will be appointed at the government level
Chief Minister Dhami said that an effective action plan should be made with measures to stop encroachment on government lands and prevent illegal sale. He directed the Chief Secretary to appoint a nodal officer at the government level to look into the cases of encroachment in the plain areas of the state.
Rules will be tightened for verification of outsiders
Chief Minister Dhami told ADG AP Anshuman that the rules should be made more stringent for verification of outsiders. The ADG informed him that a report is being sought on 18 points for verification, the data of which is also being compiled at the state level.
Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary SN Pandey, ADG AP Anshuman, Special Secretary Dr. Parag Madhukar Dhakate, Additional Secretary Banshidhar Tiwari were present in the meeting.
