Due to continuous rain in hilly states, devastation is being seen. First in Kangra and Kullu of Himachal, now in Uttarkashi of Uttarakhand, rain has become a disaster. A cloud burst in Baligarh on the Barkot-Yamunotri road of Uttarkashi. This caused huge damage. Due to the fast flow of water, 8 to 9 laborers working at an under-construction hotel site here went missing.

As soon as the information was received, the SDRF and NDRF team along with the police reached the spot and started the search operation. There is information about a cloud burst near Silai Band in Tehsil Barkot. It is being told that it was raining continuously for two days and the laborers were working here by putting up tents. But they are missing since Sunday morning.

Yamunotri route also affected

Yamunotri route has also been affected due to cloudburst. Uttarkashi District Magistrate Prashant Arya informed that SDRF and NDRF teams have been sent to the spot and rescue work has been started. Roads were also blocked at two-three places near Yamunotri National Highway Silai Band. NH Barkot has been informed about this.

Alert for heavy rain for 5 days

Apart from this, cloudburst also caused devastation in Kuthnaur located in Naugaon block and Rajgarhi tehsil. Agricultural land of local villagers is reported to be damaged here. However, it is a matter of relief that there is no information about any loss of life in Kuthnaur. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain for the next 5 days in many districts of the state including Rishikesh, Roorkee, Ranikhet, Dehradun, Uttarkashi.

Pilgrimage postponed for 24 hours

After the devastation caused by heavy rains in Uttarakhand, the Char Dham Yatra has also been postponed for the next 24 hours. In such a situation, the pilgrims who have reached Rishikesh are being stopped there. Along with this, the pilgrims who have moved ahead are also being stopped at safe places.
