An incident of cloudburst was reported near Paligad-Silai Band in Barkot tehsil of Uttarkashi at around 2:12 am. In this disaster, 9 out of 19 workers working at a hotel site under construction have been reported missing.

The remaining 10 workers were taken to a safe place. SDRF, police, and revenue department teams have reached the spot and are conducting rescue and search operations. Yamunotri National Highway (NH-94) is blocked due to debris at two-three places near Silai Band. NH Barkot has been informed to clear the route.
Along with this, agricultural land of local villagers was damaged due to cloudburst and heavy rain in Kuthnaur. However, the situation is normal there. There is no report of any loss of life or animal loss there. Relief and rescue operations are going on rapidly.
