Heavy rain warning has been issued in seven districts of Himachal on Sunday and Monday. Due to continuous rain, the road leading to Chamiyana Hospital in Shimla has been closed due to falling debris. At the same time, stones have fallen on vehicles in Bhattakufar. Along with this, debris has fallen on a house due to landslide after heavy rain in Bothwell area of ​​Sanjauli ward. Due to this, the mother and daughter living in this house are trapped inside. The administration team including the mayor councilor has reached the spot.

The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an orange alert for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur on Sunday, while on Monday for Sirmaur, Solan, Shimla and Bilaspur. There will be a yellow alert for rain from July 1 to 4. Floods have also been predicted in some areas of Solan, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts.

On Saturday also, heavy rains have occurred in various areas of the state including the capital Shimla. Clouds have also rained in Mandi, Hamirpur and Una. 38 roads are still closed in the state due to rain and landslides. So far 17 people have died after the monsoon knocked in Himachal. Production has stopped due to increased silt in Sainj Barrage, Parvati-3 and Parvati-2 power projects. Public Works Department and Jal Shakti Department have suffered a loss of about 70 crores. Apart from this, 17 people have died and 74 have been injured in road accidents between 20 and 28 June in the monsoon season.

Traffic remained halted for one and a half hours at Chakkimor, now the road has become one-way

Vehicle movement remained halted for one and a half hours due to debris falling from the mountain at Chakkimor on Kalka-Shimla National Highway 5. Due to this, a long jam occurred on both sides of the road. After the jam, people kept waiting for the road to open. After the JCB arrived, one lane of the road was cleared of debris and made operational. It is being said that around 6:45 am, debris suddenly fell from the hill at Chakkimod with rain. After this, traffic came to a complete halt. The condition of the road is very bad. Due to the huge amount of debris in the first rain, questions have been raised on the National Highway Authority. At other places too, the process of stones falling from the hill continues. After the JCB arrived, one lane of the road was made operational at around 8:10.

More than 70 roads closed in Mandi

More than 70 roads have been closed due to continuous rain in Mandi district. Electricity has been disrupted in different parts of the district due to transformer failure. This has also affected the drinking water supply. An artificial lake has once again formed in Parchu of Dharampur, which has posed a threat to the Dharampur area.

Debris near Kothi railway station, Kalka-Shimla railway track

The world heritage Kalka-Shimla railway track has been closed due to heavy debris near Kothi. Due to this, the first train arriving in the morning is stuck at Kothi railway station, while other trains have been stopped at Gumman and Kalka. Stones, trees and debris have fallen not only at Kothi but also at various stations till Shimla. The railway route is not open yet. It is being told that after the railway route opens, trains will be sent towards Shimla.

All five gates of Pandoh Dam also opened; Production stopped in Dahar Power House
After the heavy rains last night, the water level of Juni Khad and Vyas River suddenly increased rapidly. The local people of Pandoh, who were scared of the flood-like situation, are once again scared. Due to pre-monsoon flushing in Larji Dam, BBMB Pandoh Dam opened all its five spillway gates this morning, due to which the flow of water in the Vyas River has increased. Giving information, the Executive Engineer of BBMB said that about 44,000 cusecs of water is flowing in the Vyas River, which is being released forward in equal quantity through the Pandoh Dam, the silt level has increased to 4000 PPM, the Baggi tunnel has been closed for the time being, due to which power generation in the Dahar Power House has been temporarily stopped.

The fierce form of Juni Khad and the rising water level of Vyas river is pointing towards a serious situation. The local administration and BBMB have appealed to the people not to go to the river bank and asked them to remain alert. Although the situation is said to be under control at the moment, full monitoring is being done keeping in view the water level and weather. The teams of BBMB and administration are on alert mode.
